Eye is one of the most sensitive and delicate part of the body which enables us to use the sense of sight. Taking care of eye along with the whole body is very important as it also add to the beauty of the face.

There are certain things which should be kept in mind when talking about eye care. The very first thing is sleep. Taking required amount of sleep is important for whole body and especially for the eyes. According to medical research, an adult should have a sleep of about 8 hours every day. Deficiency of sleep causes fatigue, irritation and redness of eyes. So make sure you have a decent amount of sleep every night.

Other than sleeping, give your eyes a rest in your busy schedule. Take a rest for ten minutes and relax by keeping your eyes closed. If you are having a long journey or travelling for a long time, give yourself some time to relax. This will relax your body and give a break to your eyes.

If you have a daily routine which involves excessive exposure to sunlight then consider getting a pair of sunglasses. These will help you a lot in protecting your eyes from sunlight. Excessive exposure of sun rays will lead to irritation and redness which will then eventually cause allergy. So consider using a pair of sunglasses even when the exposure is not so long.

Have your eye sight tested regularly. Sometimes people have an eyesight problem and even then don’t bother to go to eye specialist. Avoid these situations as having an eye sight problem will lead to weakening of eyes if not checked. Don’t study in dim light or use bright light for long time because this will cause eye sight problem.

In case you are a female, take extra care when applying or removing makeup from the eye region and use gentle hands. Rubbing or scratching the area may damage your eyes causing infection. When using lens, take care of the hygiene and avoid contact of eye surface with your hand. Avoid use of excess cosmetic eye drops.

Consider your daily diet and include fruits and vegetables which are rich in vitamins and along with these you may use multivitamin tablets which insure that you are getting the daily requirement of minerals and vitamins.

Use goggles for swimming as swimming water contains chlorine which can cause severe irritation and redness of eyes.
